“I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.” part of the ‘Scenes From Life Series’

As she looked around everyone seemed to have a mate. All her girlfriends were either in a serious relationship or had men who wrapped around their charming little fingers were waiting to be summoned. It seemed the entire world had someone to love and someone that loved them but her.

She had wasted so much time searching for love in all the wrong places. She dated co-workers, neighbors, and the co-workers of neighbors. At one point she even started attending happy hour daily in hopes of meeting the man of her dreams. Someone to spend time with…since most of the time she was alone. Of course most of those encounters were short lived!

One day she was feeling particularly down after taking her morning jog. It was the first warm sunny day in weeks. There were couples everywhere. Laughing, talking, holding hands and enjoying one another.

After her jog she decided to call her mother to vent. Of course her mother kept it real. She said the only type of man she would meet in a bar was someone looking for a good time not commitment. She told her daughter she needed to stop looking and start praying for her God intended mate!

After the conversation she decided to take her mother’s advice and pray asking the Lord to bless her with a mate. She was tired of being alone!

So she prayed, asking the Lord to send her someone who would love and cherish her. The Lord spoke clearly to her spirit saying “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.” He reminded her that He loved her, that she didn’t have to feel lonely. That the loneliness she was  experiencing was only because she’d been searching for the love that only He the Lord God could give her. Only His love could fill the void in her heart.

As the Holy Spirit embraced her the Lord said He understood her need for companionship. For He indeed created us Man & Woman. But before He could give her a mate who would truly love her she had to first allow His divine love to reach the deepest crevices of her soul. His love had to first heal her and free her, before she could be free to truly love and be loved.

His love would be like sweet nectar to her soul! And if she would fully entrust Him with her heart He would fill it with unimaginable joy, a joy that no man can give her or take away.

Joining Him in a relationship that would satisfy her soul’s very desire – Paradise! That’s what the Lord offered her! A love like no other!
